The building dated 1725 in Hartenstraat into which Summum Woman moved was originally a tobacco business belonging to the Ploos Brothers of Amstel. Summum feels right at home in this exclusive area, which leads from the Royal Palace on Dam Square to the beating heart of this world heritage site. The ‘9 streets’ were designed back in the Golden Age specifically for shopping. It was the servants and the errand boys who made the essential purchases for the wealthy households that lived on the canals. Nowadays, everyone can enjoy nosing around the wonderful boutiques of this neighbourhood.
