The beginning of this familiar company retraces the 16 of April of 1966, with the opening of a supermarket in the place of Calheta – Praia da Luz - Lagos. Of this first initiative it was part Jose Francisco Lopes Baptista, founding partner and that it continues the business when this society is dissolved. On that time, 1974 the supermarket changes place and starts functioning in a space in the LuzTur building. – Praia da Luz commercial center. On this space it is until September 2000, time that it is transferred to its own building in Urbanização Montes Luz lote 58 – Praia da Luz. It is with society, with the children and its older son Rui José dos Reis Baptista as partner and manager who keeps its activity until today. This company, although it keeps its familiar characteristics, they have tried to follow the requirements of the sector and to adapt itself to the new times. This company has to offer its customers beyond a big variety of national and foreign products, a big selection of delicatessen, dairy products, bakery, butchery and an excellent national and foreign wine selection, as well as a tobacco and coffee shop. In May 2009, it open the Baptista Market. Few meters from Baptista Supermarket, this new store has as main caracteristic fresh diary products, garanty the best quality.
