Ever since its foundation in 1996, TSE – The Surf Experience, located in Lagos in the Portuguese Algarve, has been one of the most atmospheric surf camps in the world. The region’s countless magnificent surf spots are unrivaled as well as our luxurious accommodation. Nonetheless, it is our experienced surf guides and surf coaches that are setting new standards. From beginners to pros, our team’s professional work is valued by surfers at every level – as well as our excellent kitchen.

After its foundation by Conny and Dago Lipke, the camp quickly gained recognition in the surfing world; increasingly so as their son Marlon became one of the best German surfers in the world. He won numerous competitions and even qualified for the legendary Dream Tour of surfing’s Top 45. Their son Melvin owns the well-known Mellow Loco Bar in Lagos where you can meet the whole TSE family for an after-surf drink.

In 2013, Iris and Urs joined this family and started to manage TSE. They had worked in a variety of surfcamps around the world before, but never found the right one to settle down. Until they came to Portugal! Here they found the perfect balance of astonishing nature, friendly people who make you feel at home, and waves all year round.
